Monday Letter 10/10/22

Dear Parents,

I want to formally welcome Caleb Kwok and family to KA. Because the student directory has already been published, I had the office make some labels with Caleb’s contact information for you to put in your directory. Watch for those to come home today in the red folders.

This is the very last minute to sell magazines. We will hear all about its success soon and I will have prize info for you as well. Please be sure that your child has sold at least one magazine. Prize day can be upsetting for the kids, and it is easier for me if I can give everyone something.

Friday is an in-service day for us so there will not be any school.  I hope the weather cooperates and you are able to get out and do something fun.

REMINDERS:

M/T- PE shoes

T- library books- overdue notes went home Friday

Wednesday- mass (perfect uniforms)

Friday- No School due to a teacher Inservice Day

Here is a look at our week of learning.

Language Arts: This week we will explore what kinds of work people do. Skills taught include: identifying beginning sounds, pausing for punctuation, synonyms, action verbs and generating ideas for a story. The new words are: and, get. New phonograms are: oo, ow

Math: We will finish our math chapter and begin working with numbers 6-10. It is always a good idea to practice counting and number recognition on a daily basis. This doesn’t need to be anything formal! You can count your steps, white/ black cars that go by, and be on the lookout for a certain number all day.

Religion: The Lord is my Shepherd

Science: We will continue to collect, observe and record weather data looking for October weather trends.

Second Step:  safety lesson provided to us by the Archdiocese.

Homework:

  • Monday- sight word practice
  • Tuesday- Happy Numbers
  • Wednesday- Reader

Let me know if you have any questions.

Mrs. Clarke
